This season of life has been a challenging one for sure, but one of the things that I am grateful to know is that God is always by my side no matter what. As many of you know, one of my passions is for singing and worshipping Jesus. I am forever grateful to get the opportunity to sing at my local church on the worship team. It has been a blessing to get to know the people there who have such a heart for God.
As a worshipper, it’s been my heart that I be genuine in what I sing, that I take it seriously and strive to make a worshipful experience for those attending. I remember praying that God specifically humble me and help those desires to be true. Now, I’m most definitely not saying that I got cancer because of this as I believe that bad things just happen in this world. But I believe that he can use this experience to grow my faith with God. The bible says he can make beauty out of the ashes. (Isaiah 61:3) It makes me just want to sing his praises more because I have seen what he has done in my life, especially during this cancer diagnosis.
I remember when I was preparing to go to the ER for the 6th time, as I was gathering the keys, I got this sinking feeling, “Feed the cat, you won’t be coming home tonight”. So I gave the cat some extra food to last a couple of days just in case. Sure enough, that was when I was transferred to Abbott hospital for 4 days. I had a few of these types of moments where God was so evidently preparing me for what was to come. Another example; I had gotten the call to set up an appointment for the next morning with my doctor. I was strangely nervous. It was a feeling I hadn’t gotten for any of the other appointments. It was a feeling that something wasn’t right, and I believe it was God telling me ahead of time that this call would give me a diagnosis. To which it was. God is real, and he has been one step ahead of this the whole time! It gives me tremendous peace to know I am not alone.

After my cancer diagnosis on 10/22/25, I was scheduled to sing on the worship team the Sunday after. I kid you not, literally all of the songs were perfect to what I was feeling inside and the situation I was going through. Songs like, “I trust in God”, “Firm Foundation”, and “Living Hope”. If you don’t know these songs, I highly encourage you to give them a listen! They are powerful. I had the privilege to lead, “I Speak Jesus”. My mother happened to be there and got a video of it. I can’t embed the video because that requires a premium subscription, but I can give you the link to my YouTube site where you can take a look. Click Here to see!
So all this to say, my heart during this season of life is that I represent Christ in all of this, that no matter how hard it gets, even still I will worship. I will sing his praises for all he has done, for all he continues to do, and how much he loves us. I can promise you this, He really does love us, and he truly does care. My hope is that you can know this too! Reach out to me if you ever have any questions, I can’t promise I have all the answers but I can listen!
